Scope on site
An hour walking the room with you: what's staying, what's going, where the waste and water actually run, and what the floor is hiding.
- Stage 2
Staged written quote
Priced by stage — strip-out, rough-in, waterproofing, tiling, fit-off — in AUD, with a provisional sum for anything behind a wall we can't see yet.
- Stage 3
Trades booked in sequence
Plumber, sparky, waterproofer, tiler and plasterer locked into a day-by-day program before the first tile comes off.
- Stage 4
Build and handover
A typical bathroom runs three to four weeks. You get a weekly update, and a defects walk-through before the final invoice.
What's included in a bathroom rebuild
Strip-out back to frame
Fixtures, tiles, screed, damaged studs and rusted brackets removed and disposed of, with the room dust-sealed from the rest of the house.
Carpentry and framing repairs
Rotten bottom plates and studs replaced, floors levelled, new noggings put in wherever a vanity, rail or niche needs fixing to something solid.
Plumbing and electrical rough-in
Licensed trades set out to your chosen fixtures — including moving the shower or toilet if the layout is changing — with certificates issued for their work.
Waterproofing to standard
Done by a licensed waterproofer with the correct falls to waste, then left to cure the full time before tiling starts. No shortcuts here, ever.
Tiling, niches and screed
Wall and floor tiling, shower niches set out so cuts land where you'd want them, and a screed with real fall to the drain.
Vanity and custom joinery
Made in the workshop to your dimensions where a stock vanity won't fit — common in narrow inner-north bathrooms.
Fit-off and finishing
Tapware, screen, mirror, towel rails, doors rehung and painted, silicone lines cut in clean.
Final clean and defects walk
The room is cleaned, we walk it together with a list, and anything on that list is fixed before the final invoice goes out.
Renovation questions
Three to four weeks for a standard bathroom, longer if the layout is moving or the floor needs structural work. The waterproofing cure time and the tiler's schedule are the two things that set the pace — neither should be rushed.

It happens in older Melbourne houses. You get a photo, an explanation and a price for the extra work before anything is done — it never just appears on the final invoice.
For a single bathroom, almost always. The room is sealed off with dust barriers and the water is only shut off for short periods you'll know about in advance. If it's your only bathroom, we plan the fit-off to get the toilet back first.
